Usually, these are superficial rationalizations covering our deeper insecurities and fears around our work. When we can get a broader sense of our ideas around perfectionism, we can strive for excellence while owning our fallibility. POINT #1: "CIRCUMSTANCES ARE SHALLOW" -When we start telling ourselves a story around not having the tools or perfect situation to do our best work, we sell ourselves short and limit our creative ability. Not only that but usually they're thin veils for deeper fears and anxieties. POINT #2: "CONDITIONS ON CREATIONS ARE PARALYSING" -We often put a lot on our ideas and projects, as in we feel a kind of obligation for everything we do to be a massive success. Such an expectation restricts our potential as artists. Not everything can, needs, or has to be anything more than your best effort and expression. POINT #3: "THE EGO HIDES BEHIND PERFECTION" -Perfectionism is the refusal to move forward. When we get caught in the trappings of perfectionism, we make very little movement all in the name of staying comfortable and avoiding criticism.
