B&EP #104 - Making a Show When You‘ve Never Made a Show (w/ Eric Banerd & Sean Poague)
The B&E Podcast #104 "Making a Show When You've Never Made a Show" w/ Banerd & Poague Soundcloud Link: soundcloud.com/thebandepodcast SUMMARY OF THE PODCAST: With actor/filmmakers Eric Banerd and Sean Poague, we dive into the trials and joys of producing a new type of work for the first time. Often it means having to make certain compromises and accepting certain limitations but sticking to where it counts. POINT #1: "BRING YOUR FRIENDS!" -When our budgets and contacts are limited, we go to what we got and that means friends and family. They may help you out and be very talented, but make sure that they have accountability for the job they've been brought on to do. Don't be afraid to communicate when they're not meeting their end -- this is your baby after all! POINT #2: "JUST DO IT" -It works for a big shoe company, why not for budding filmmakers and artists? Don't get too caught up in making it perfect or precious. Work with what you have, bring your best, and bring your passion. You'll learn, grow and get better. POINT #3: "LET PEOPLE IN" -When you have friends and people coming in working for nothing or next to nothing, it's very easy for responsibility to slip. One way to avoid this is to make sure you communicate your passion to everyone you bring in. Express why you're doing this, the messages your telling, and why that's important and you'll find the people around you injecting their best efforts and talents as a result.
